The only way to access this island is by ferry, no cars are allowed on the Island
The only way to get around is by walking, bicycle, or by horse and carriage.
The walking is free, the other modes of transportation can be rented

The island is home to one of the country's oldest hotels completely made of wood

A one time play ground for Michigan's affluent it is still a very popular get away for a lot of us Michiganier's
and our nearby neighbors.
The hotel and the gardens are world renown
The island's Main sreet is full of old world charm, quaint Inn's, B& B's, antique
shops and restaurants.
Famous for it's fudge, you can't go home without some.
The
spectacular gardens, the gorgeous scenery, the lake, the small town charm, and the history make Mackinac Island a perfect getaway.
