The Changing of the pots
The changing of the pots.
The early planting of these pots looks awkward , the Canna's are small, the Licorice clumsy.
This is the early stage of a planting, you never really know whats gonna happen all you can do is hope for the best, especially when it's a client's home.
Sometimes we get happy surprises.
These are the same pots that earlier looked so clumsy and awkward.
The Cannas beefed up and the other plants filled out and draped over the pot giving a full and lush look to the pots.
A planting that changed, I'm happy with the results.
Now the pots have been changed out for fall.
Change can be a good thing.

Welcoming fall
As some may know fall is my least favorite time of the year, all of that may be changing soon.
Fall can be a beautiful time, so this year I'm welcoming fall with open arms and fall plantings.
"Hooray for Fall"
Fall container plantings are not so much about growing.
The Ornamental Kale's in this arrangement are the only elements that are living, everything else is dried, preserved.........or fake.
Dead and dying things, isn't that what fall is all about?
Sorry for this blurry photo, but I kinda like it.
So get out there and do a fall container, the dead and the dying can be beautiful.

Containers of interest
The choices that we have in containers these days is unlimited and amazing.
Here are just a glance of some containers and planters that I like.
'
These concrete pots above are from the 1950's
Old or new, great containers make planting moere enjoyable.
Painted Terra-cotta
Wood, Metal, terra-cotta, concrete, I prefer the natural materials.......though some of the plastic- fiber pots are starting to catch my eye because some of them do look like a natural material.
Plastic- fiber
I like to think of great containers as peices of artwork that I can afford.
